Organization permissions: admins and members

Understand what organization admins can change and what organization members can access in Cadence Calendar.

Organization permissions: admins and members

If you use Cadence Calendar inside an organization, your role controls which pages and settings you can change.

There are two organization roles:

  • Organization admin
  • Organization member

Who this is for

This article is for people using Cadence Calendar in an organization account and who want to understand why some pages are editable while others are locked.

What organization admins can do

Organization admins can manage organization-wide settings and integrations.

In the current app, admins can access pages such as:

  • Invoices
  • Branding
  • Email
  • Sign-Up Form
  • Account Portal
  • Integrations
  • Third-party payers
  • Misc settings

Admins can also change organization-wide options inside those pages, including payment settings and portal preferences when those features are available.

What organization members can do

Organization members have a narrower view.

In the settings area, members can use only the personal pages that are meant for their own account, such as:

  • Profile
  • Calendar

Members do not get access to the organization-wide settings pages listed above.

If they try to open a restricted page, Cadence Calendar shows an access denied message.

How the app separates admin and member access

Cadence Calendar checks your organization role before opening certain pages or saving certain settings.

That means:

  • admin-only pages stay available to organization admins
  • member-only users are blocked from organization settings pages
  • personal settings like your name, avatar, and timezone stay available to the user who owns the account

This keeps organization-level changes in the hands of admins while still letting members manage their own profile and calendar view.

What this means for payments and integrations

Organization admins control organization-level payment and integration setup.

That includes things like:

  • connecting Stripe
  • connecting PayPal
  • enabling invoice payment options
  • changing invoice and portal settings that affect the whole organization

Organization members cannot change those settings.

What to do if you cannot open a page

If Cadence Calendar tells you that access is restricted, it usually means your role does not have permission to edit that page.

In that case:

  • check whether you are signed into the correct organization
  • ask an organization admin to make the change
  • use the personal pages that are available to your role
