Expense Summary
The Expense Summary report shows the expense entries recorded in Cadence Calendar, grouped by category.
Who this is for
This report is for teachers and organization admins who want to review business spending over a selected month or year.
What data it generates
The report includes:
- non-mileage expense entries only
- grouped totals by expense type
- an itemized list of expenses inside each category
- each expense date
- each expense description
- each expense amount
What it excludes
This report does not include mileage entries.
If you want mileage details, use the Mileage Tracking report instead.
How to use it
Open Expense Details from the Business Reports area and choose the period you want to review.
You can:
- view the full year
- view a specific month
- open the PDF in a new tab
- download the PDF
- download the CSV
What the report means
This report is built from the expense records you have already entered into Cadence Calendar.
It helps you see:
- which categories you spend the most on
- how much was spent in total
- what individual expenses make up each category
What you will see in the report
The report shows a summary of total expenses by category and then breaks each category into itemized rows.
That makes it useful for questions like:
- How much did I spend on supplies?
- What were my largest business expense categories?
- What individual expenses were entered this year?
