To enable two-way sync between Cadence Calendar and Google Calendar, you’ll need to grant permission through Google’s OAuth process.
When signing in with Google, you’ll be prompted to accept a permission scope called:
“See, edit, share, and permanently delete all the calendars you can access using Google Calendar.”
This is the exact verbiage provided by Google. It may sound broad, but it is required for Cadence Calendar to:
Create a dedicated Cadence Calendar inside your Google Calendar.
Add new lessons or events from Cadence Calendar into Google Calendar.
Update lesson times if you adjust them directly in Google Calendar.
Keep both calendars fully in sync.
You can view and manage your connected apps and permissions at any time in your Google Account under:
Google Third-Party Connections.
There you’ll see Cadence Calendar listed as a connected app, along with the granted permission scopes.
If you originally signed up for Cadence Calendar without using your Google account, you can still connect Google Calendar later to enable two-way sync.
Click on your profile avatar in the top header.
Select Manage Membership.
Under Connected Accounts, choose Add Google Account.
Sign in with your Google credentials.
Accept the requested permission scope:
“See, edit, share, and permanently delete all the calendars you can access using Google Calendar.”
This is the official Google wording for the required calendar/auth scope. You can also review or remove this connection anytime by visiting Google Third-Party Connections.
Once connected, a new calendar named Cadence Calendar will appear in your Google Calendar when a new lesson or event is created, and any lesson or event updates will sync both ways.
From Cadence → Google: When lessons or events are created in Cadence Calendar, they will appear in your Google Calendar under a new calendar automatically created called “Cadence Calendar.”
From Google → Cadence: If you update the lesson time directly in Google Calendar, that updated time will sync back and update the lesson in Cadence Calendar.
This ensures both calendars always stay aligned, whether you make changes in Cadence or Google.
If your Google Calendar isn’t showing all your Cadence Calendar lessons or events, you can manually trigger a resync.
Navigate to the Calendar page.
Open Calendar Sync settings.
Click the Resync button.
Only use this if events are missing in your Google Calendar.
This action does not affect external calendar feeds.
A resync will reload all lessons and events from today through one year into the future.
After the resync, your Google Calendar should match what you see in Cadence Calendar.
