<h1>What Is an External Feed?</h1>An external feed is a read-only .ics server link. Once you add the feed to your calendar app, your schedule will appear alongside your other events.<h2>Update Frequency</h2><ul class="accent-bullets"><li>External feeds are not instant.</li><li>It may take several hours for changes in Cadence Calendar to appear in your calendar app.</li><li>For real-time updates, use the two-way Google Calendar sync instead.</li></ul><h2>How to Add an External Feed</h2><ol class="steps-list"><li>Go to the Calendar page in Cadence Calendar.</li><li>Click the Calendar Sync button.</li><li>Under External Feeds, choose either:<ul class="accent-bullets"><li>Google Calendar</li><li>Apple Calendar</li></ul></li><li>Follow the prompts to add the subscription to your calendar app.</li></ol>Once added, your schedule will automatically refresh on the update cycle of your chosen calendar app.<hr><h1>Limitations</h1><ul class="accent-bullets"><li>Not two-way synced: changes made in your external calendar will not sync back to Cadence Calendar.</li><li>No color coding: group colors in Cadence Calendar will not carry over.</li><li>Not editable: external feeds are view-only; lesson edits and cancellations must be done in Cadence Calendar.</li></ul>
