<h1>Overview</h1><ol class="steps-list"><li>Go to Settings → Email Templates: You’ll see templates like Invoice, Invoice Reminder, and Payment Received. Each controls the subject and body of the emails Cadence sends automatically for that scenario.</li><li>Open a template to edit: Click a template row (pencil icon). A side panel opens showing Subject and a rich Message Body editor (supports bold, italics, underline, links, and clean paragraph formatting).</li><li>Insert template variables: Click Available Variables to see merge fields (e.g., account name, invoice total, dates). Insert them where you want dynamic values to appear—Cadence fills them in when the email is sent.</li><li>Know when each template is used:<ul class="accent-bullets"><li>Invoice: Used when you send invoices to the primary account holder.</li><li>Invoice Reminder: Used when you send reminders for unpaid/overdue invoices (single or bulk).</li><li>Payment Received: Used when you record a payment and want the family notified.</li></ul></li><li>Save, or restore defaults: Click Save to apply changes. If you ever want the original wording/design back, choose Restore Default Template in the editor. The badge on the list shows Default (unchanged) or Custom (edited).</li><li>Preview before sending: Use the preview inside the editor (or send a test from your email client after saving) to check that variables render as expected and links look right.</li><li>Add helpful links: If you accept online payments, mention that in Invoice/Reminder templates and include the payment link section so families can pay in one click.</li></ol>
