Go to Settings → Email Templates: You’ll see templates like Invoice, Invoice Reminder, and Payment Received. Each controls the subject and body of the emails Cadence sends automatically for that scenario.
Open a template to edit: Click a template row (pencil icon). A side panel opens showing Subject and a rich Message Body editor (supports bold, italics, underline, links, and clean paragraph formatting).
Insert template variables: Click Available Variables to see merge fields (e.g., account name, invoice total, dates). Insert them where you want dynamic values to appear—Cadence fills them in when the email is sent.
Know when each template is used:
Invoice: Used when you send invoices to the primary account holder.
Invoice Reminder: Used when you send reminders for unpaid/overdue invoices (single or bulk).
Payment Received: Used when you record a payment and want the family notified.
Save, or restore defaults: Click Save to apply changes. If you ever want the original wording/design back, choose Restore Default Template in the editor. The badge on the list shows Default (unchanged) or Custom (edited).
Preview before sending: Use the preview inside the editor (or send a test from your email client after saving) to check that variables render as expected and links look right.
Add helpful links: If you accept online payments, mention that in Invoice/Reminder templates and include the payment link section so families can pay in one click.
