Email settings in Cadence Calendar control how your messages are sent and how your communications look. Reminders, confirmations, invoices, and portal messages all use these settings, so getting them right makes every client-facing email feel polished and dependable.
Connect your Gmail account from the Email settings page so Cadence Calendar can send messages from your own address. Sending a personalized custom message (see Custom Templates below) requires the Gmail send permission; without it you can still send system emails through the default Cadence Calendar sender.
System Templates are the built-in templates Cadence Calendar uses for automated messages:
Invoice email
Payment received email
Invoice overdue reminder email
Each one has an editable form where you can adjust the subject and body, with a default version shown alongside your customized version.
Custom Templates are reusable templates you build yourself for the Send Message dialog. In the Custom Templates section:
Click New Template to create one, giving it a name, subject, and body.
Click an existing template to edit it.
The list shows both your Custom Templates (tagged Custom) and the System Templates (tagged Default), so you can see everything available when composing a message in one place.
Both system and custom templates support merge variables like the student's name, the account's name, and your name. When a message is sent, Cadence Calendar looks up the recipient's matching student or account and fills in the variables for that person, so a single template can be personalized for every recipient without editing it each time.
Use a recognizable sender address so messages are easy to trust.
Test a custom template on yourself before sending it to a full list.
Keep templates concise and professional.
Review templates periodically as your studio's policies change.
